
The weather and other issues prevent completion of the Railroad Track Gate Road project. A majority of the work is done, but some stone work remains. The road is now "all-weather". When work began, we could use the road only on the driest of days. Now, only severe weather prevents access.
Stand 10 was burned for hazard reduction and silviculture purposes. The burn went well and will provide wildlife with a new open area to explore and browse for forage.

The forest is now home to a Remote Automated Weather Station (RAWS). The station allows us to accurately monitor the weather on the forest. Access to precise weather conditions are vital for fire management activities.
Stand 9 was burned in May. The burn was conducted for several reasons; hazard reduction; silviculture; and wildlife enhancement.

The state begins undertakes financial support of the forest. Enough funding is secured to promote Laura Shidal to Forest Supervisor and to hire an Educational Ranger; Jonathan Wilson.
